Summary: Minute of meeting of the Town Council; Kilwinning excluded from the lists of places unsuitable for receiving transferred persons, despite its proximity to Nobel’s explosives; Clerk to write to Department of Health asking that Kilwinning be excluded from the list of reception areas; reply from the Secretary of State for Scotland.

Source Two: Evacuation Scheme: Plans for Landward part of County
Summary: A maximum number of 8,200 children from Glasgow could be sent to the County of Ayr; meeting attended by people who had volunteered to act as reception and billeting officers; plan would only be carried out if air raids developed on a serious scale; only school age children would be sent, without their mothers.
