North Ayrshire Library and Information Service collections include: books, CDS, DVDS, computer games, to support the lifelong learning, cultural, information and leisure needs of the people and communities of North Ayrshire.

Our aim is to be socially inclusive and to reflect all shades of the religious, moral and political opinions of all sections of the community and will continue to develop our multicultural collection.

We will continue to encourage a love of reading, to provide resources to meet all needs of our differing communities and ensure that this is delivered making the most efficient and effective use of resources.

We will continue to monitor our selection policies in order to improve our service to our diverse community.

Anyone living, working or studying in North Ayrshire can join and use any of the 17 branch libraries and two mobile libraries.

To join, bring two proofs of identity (one of which has your name and address) and complete a membership card at your nearest library. Adults can borrow up to 6 books for free as well as 4 CDs, 2 DVDs and 1 Playstation game each for a small charge. Members can also request items from the online catalogue to be delivered to their local library, again for a small charge.
